Icarus has fallen; he’s sleeping at my feet.

With half of my heart filled with a sort of disdain for many a metropolis throughout the world, I now find myself residing within one for a short period of time - Chicago, here I am.

It’s not that I hate big cities or anything; quite the contrary, actually. I love walking down the streets of any significantly large city at 5-6am on a Sunday morning; it’s absolutely breath-taking to see the streets so barren and devoid of life; very much the opposite of what the city would usually consist of and stand for - stillness.

My slight loathing for cities of this proportion comes from my love of nature and attempting to be at least somewhat in touch with what this earth really is. I’d rather walk outside and smell air than shit and smog; I want to go to a park not a 20×20ft patch of grass with a sign out front that says “_____ park”; I want to look up at the sky on a clear night and see stars, not more city lights.

I’m not saying I want to live in the country, 100 miles from everyone and start wearing patchouli oil [which, in the wise words of Patton Oswalt, smells like dirt that’s been fucked by a hobo] or anything, I just appreciate having nature around; it’s why I like living in suburb-y places… you get the best of both worlds.

Anyway, I’m in Chicago now and I’ll be here for 3-4 weeks. I’m working at Threadless and living with Dustin, Nabeel and Stephanie. Starting with the LOST season finale party this Thursday, I can only imagine the ridiculous times that shall be had over the next few weeks.

If you’re living in [or visiting] chicago, feel free to hit me up via myspace, text message or telepathy.

Also, when’s my next trip to England, so that I may see my family?
No… seriously… tell me.

xoxo,
